1.What this policy covers
This policy explains how Fenora Pro uses cookies and other browser storage on fenora.pro, app.fenora.pro and survey.fenora.pro, and how you can control it.
It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we process, why, and what rights you have. "Cookies" here means cookies, local storage, session storage, IndexedDB and service-worker caches — the technologies that let a web application remember anything between pages.
2.The short version
Fenora sets no advertising or tracking cookies
We do not run advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, social media pixels or third-party analytics cookies. Nothing we store is used to follow you across other websites or to build an advertising profile. Because every item below is essential to making the product work, there is nothing optional to opt in to — which is why you see a short notice rather than an "Accept all" banner.
3.Strictly necessary storage
This is the storage without which the service cannot function. It is set on the basis that it is essential, not on consent, and cannot be switched off from within Fenora.
- Session and authentication
- A token that keeps you signed in and identifies your workspace on each request. Without it you would be returned to the sign-in page on every click.
- Security and abuse prevention
- Short-lived records that let us rate-limit sign-in attempts, form submissions and public endpoints, and detect automated abuse. These protect your workspace as well as ours.
- Your interface preferences
- Your chosen theme (light or dark), language, text size, navigation behaviour and email text size. These are held on your device so the workspace looks the way you left it.
- Storage notice
- A single value recording that this notice has been shown, so you are not asked again on every page.
4.The field survey app, and offline working
The survey app is designed to be used on site, where there is often no signal. To make that possible it holds data on your own device:
- Survey measurements, specifications, checklist answers, photographs, sketches and voice notes are written to the device's local storage as they are captured, and uploaded to your workspace when connectivity returns.
- An upload queue holds anything not yet sent, so a survey is never lost to a dropped connection.
- An application cache stores the app's own files so it opens without a network connection.
This data is stored only on that device until it has synced to your workspace. It is cleared when you sign out, and can be cleared at any time by clearing the browser's site data for survey.fenora.pro. Because it never leaves the device until it syncs, it is not used for any other purpose.
5.Third parties you meet while using Fenora
Some services are involved in Fenora without setting a cookie on our behalf. We list them because you should know they are there.
- Stripe
- Our payment processor. When you subscribe, or open the billing portal, Stripe sets its own cookies on its own domain to process the payment securely and prevent fraud. Stripe is an independent controller for that activity under its own privacy policy.
- Google, Microsoft and Apple sign-in
- If you choose to sign in with one of these providers, or connect a mailbox, you are taken to their own domain and they set their own cookies there. We never see or store those cookies.
- Google Fonts
- The typefaces used across Fenora are served by Google Fonts. Loading a page therefore makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, which receives your IP address and user agent. We do not use this to identify you, and it is not used for advertising — but it is a third-party request, and we would rather tell you than have you discover it.
- Email open tracking
- Fenora can tell a workspace when an email it sent was opened, using a small image in the message. That is a tracking pixel in an email, not a cookie, and it operates on a workspace's own outbound message to its own customer. It can be switched off in the workspace's settings.
6.How to control what is stored
- Blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will sign you out and stop Fenora working, but you can delete them at any time.
- Clearing site data for a specific address in your browser, which removes the field app's offline survey data and cache.
- Signing out of the survey app, which clears the survey data held on that device.
- Using your browser's private or incognito mode, in which storage is discarded when the window closes.
- Revoking access to a connected mailbox at your provider, which stops all further access from Fenora.
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies; look for "Privacy" or "Cookies and site data" in its settings. Our storage is limited to what is described above, so there is no preference centre to visit.
7.Changes to this policy
If we add a category of storage that is not strictly necessary — for example a third-party analytics tool — we will say so here, update the effective date, and ask for your consent before it is set, with a genuine choice to decline. We will not add such a category silently.
